🢒 Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement
Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement LY7
Removal Procedure
Remove the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
.
Loosen the air cleaner assembly front half retaining screws.
Remove the air cleaner assembly front half.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose fitting from the power steering pump.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to the frame mounting bolts.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear.
Remove the power steering hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the power steering hose to the vehicle.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering gear.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt and tighten to
23 N·m (17 lb in)
.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose to frame mounting bolts and tighten to
10 N·m (88 lb in)
.
Install the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
Lower the vehicle.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to the power steering pump and tighten to
40 N·m (30 lb in)
.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose quick connect to the fitting.
Install the air cleaner assembly front half then tighten the screws to
8 N·m (71 lb in)
.
Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
.
Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement LH2
Removal Procedure
Remove the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe clip bracket nut from the power steering pump.
Reposition the pipe clip bracket.
Loosen the fitting and remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Remove the left side engine splash shield. Refer to
Engine Splash Shield Replacement
.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to frame mounting bolts.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear.
Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering gear.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt and tighten to
23 N·m (17 lb ft)
.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose to frame mounting bolts and tighten to
10 N·m (88 lb in)
.
Install the left side engine splash shield. Refer to
Engine Splash Shield Replacement
.
Install the left front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Install the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
Lower the vehicle.
Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump. Tighten the fitting to
40 N·m (30 lb ft)
.
Install the pipe clip bracket to the pump.
Install the power steering gear inlet pipe clip bracket nut and tighten to
9 N·m (80 lb in)
.
Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
