GMSPO (GM Service Parts Operations) is currently offering remanufactured gasoline and diesel engines that were originally manufactured for General Motors in a plant operated by Oldsmobile Division in Lansing, Michigan. Refer to GM Parts Information Bulletin 86-175 for detaits.

The following Cadillac information is derived from that bulletin.

P/N 22536530 - 350 - Gasoline - VIN Code "R", 1976 and 1977 Seville. In addition to items listed as "Components that must be transferred" the cover plate for the fuel pump mounting should be included since the E.F.I. system does not use a mechanical pump.

P/N 22536534 - 350 - Gasoline - VIN Code "R", 1978 and 1979 Seville and 1980 Seville and Eldorado equipped with electronic fuel injection. This application requires the same fuel pump cover plate transfer.

P/N 22536524 - 307 - Gasoline - VIN Code "Y", 5.OL engine, 1986 and 1987 Fleetwood Brougham. Specific information, covered separately, later in this butletin.

P/N 22531744 - 4.3L - Diesel - VIN Code "T". Early 1985 (FWD) De Ville and Fleetwood with internal EGR. Application and use is exactly as outlined in the GM Parts Information Bulletin 86-175. Refer to the appropriate 1985 Service information Manual for detailed information.

P/N 22531746 - 4.3L - Diesel - VIN Code "T". Late 1985 (FWD) De Ville and Fleetwood with External EGR and Electronic Emission Controls. Refer to the appropriate Service Information Manual for details.

P/N 22531736 - 5.7L-V8 Diesel-(VIN Code "N")- 78-79 Pencil Nozzle - No EGR P/N 22531738 - 5.7L-V8 Diesel-(VIN Code "N")- 8O All-81 Calif.-Poppet Nozzle-Ext. The above remanufactured engine is recommended for in-warranty repairs. New parts used restore the assembly to original design specification. Engine remanufacturers are certified by General Motors Engineering for content and process. These engines offer an alternative to in-dealership overhaul with excelient quality and outstanding warranty coverage. New vehicles in dealer stock that require engine replacement should continue to use new service replacement engines.

Warranty Information

Remanufactured engines are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles. Refer to G.M. Parts Policies and Procedures manual for details on engine warranty.
