REAR DOOR STATIONARY VENT GLASS LOOSE OR SEPARATED

STATIONARY REAR DOOR VENT GLASS ON 1981, 82, 83 'K' STYLES WHICH SEPARATE FROM THE DIE CAST FRAME MAY BE REINSTALLED TO THE FRAME USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES. 1. REMOVE THE STATIONARY REAR DOOR VENT FRAME FROM THE VEHICLE BY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE IN THE FISHER BODY SERVICE MANUAL, SECTION 5. 2. TRIM THE MATERIAL FROM THE INBOARD SEAL LIP ON THE GLASS MODULE AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1, SECTION A-A. 3. CLEAN THE CAVITY OF THE FRAME USING A SMALL BRUSH AN A SLOW EVAPORATING THINNER (PNT 90, DTL105 OR EQUIVALENT). BE SURE THAT ALL TRACES OF THE OLD PRIMER ARE REMOVED. 4. CLEAN THE MODULE SURFACES AS SHOWN IN SECTION A_A. 5. APLLY 3M #08061 CLEAR EMBLEM ADHESIVE INTO THE CAVITY AND AND BRUSH AN EVEN COAT ON ALL THE CAVITY SURFACES. 6. INSTALL THE GLASS TO FRAME AND CLAMP IT INTO POSITION USING C-CLAMPS OR LOCKING PLIERS. 7. USING A HEAT GUN, APPLY HEAT TO REPAIRED AREAS FOR A PERIOD OF 3 TO 5 MINUTES TO PROMOTE CURING. 8. LEAVE THE VENT ASSEMBLY CLAMPED FOR 3 HOURS. 9. UNCLAMP THE ASSEMBLY AND REINSTALL IT INTO THE DOOR.
