Some 1986-1988 Sevilles may experience a condition of worn rub strips in the front window glass retainers (i.e. channels) on the window reveal molding, refer to Figure 1. To repair this condition, the glass retainers (front and rear) are now available for replacement on the window reveal moldings. This eliminates the need to replace the window reveal molding for this condition.
1. Remove the window reveal molding as described in Section 5D of the Body Service Manual.
2. Drill out the rivets that secure the glass retainers to the window reveal molding.
3. Position the new glass retainers on the window reveal molding and drill 1/8" diameter rivet holes in the glass retainers.
4. Install 1/8" rivets to secure the glass retainers to the window reveal molding.
5. Install the window reveal molding as described in Section 5D of the Body Service Manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
