CAMPAIGN: PRODUCT RECALL FOLLOW-UP PROGRAM

The Service Administration Department is pleased to announce a significant enhancement to the Cadillac Campaign Assignment and Tracking System.

In conjunction with the other GM Divisions, Cadillac will begin participating in a coordinated product recall campaign follow-up program through R.L. Polk and Company. The purpose of this program is to provide, on a quarterly basis, the most current owner information available from state vehicle registrations for vehicles with outstanding campaigns. Our participation is scheduled to begin with the April campaign report, which will be released in mid-May. All not-completed vehicles affected by campaigns that are less than 25 months old will be involved. R.L. Polk will provide current available owner information for these vehicles from their state vehicle registration files and assign them to the nearest Cadillac dealer based on the owner's zip code.

This new owner information will appear as part of the vehicle record on the appropriate dealer's monthly "Not Modified Report". Each record will have a "T" next to the V.1. Number indicating that it is a new vehicle in the dealer's area requiring a campaign modification. Dealers should contact the owners of these vehicles and arrange to complete the required campaign.

The campaign system changes necessary to implement this program were tested with actual R.L. Polk registration data in December, 1988. The test results indicated a 65% success rate in identifying "new" owner information. Based on these results we are confident that this system enhancement will increase Cadillac's campaign completion rates and have a very positive impact on customer satisfaction. However, we recognize it is your continued cooperation and perseverance that is still the most important factor to ensure that all required campaigns are completed.

Any questions regarding this new program should be directed to your Cadillac Zone Office.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
