Enclosed is the initial retail version of the Warranty Activities Quick Reference Guide. This guide was developed at the request of the Cadillac National Service Managers Council and is intended as a quick reference for service management. The guide is pocket size and includes the following information:
o Toll-free numbers o 1982-1991 warranty coverages o Miscellaneous warranty subjects o Battery prorate guide o Credit memo numbering o Failure code chart o Campaign information o Labor Operation numbers
This pocket guide can be helpful for service management or warranty administrators. It is not intended to replace detailed information contained in publications such as the Warranty and Transportation Claim Preparation Manual and Labor Time Guides. Some specific information (such as labor times and specific vehicle applicability) must still be obtained from the larger "source" books.
If you wish to purchase additional copies of these guides, they are available through Cadillac Stationery Control under catalog number S-2509 for $5.00 each.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
