This bulletin details enhancements made to the Certified Plus Training (CPT) program beginning with 1990 model year releases. The following are new features:
The charge for ordering test forms to certify additional technicians has been eliminated. Ten test forms are now included and additional tests are available at no charge by using the order form in the CPT package.
Additional handout booklets (two are still included in each CPT package) can be purchased separately.
Even with these changes the response time for processing CPT tests will remain four to six weeks.
These enhancements are in response to your requests. CPT is an important part of your service department's technical training. We encourage you to take advantage of the CPT training opportunities available to you during the 1990 model year.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
