TAIL LAMP CONDENSATION REPLACE TAIL LAMP ASSY.

SUBJECT: TAIL LAMP CONDENSATION (REPLACE TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLIES)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 'E' SEVILLES

Some 1990 Sevilles (except STS) may experience condensation (moisture) in the tail lamps between the inner red lens and outer clear lens. This should be considered a normal condition for the 1990 lens and the tail lamps should not be replaced with the same style.

To repair this condition replace right and left tail lamp assemblies with 1991 design tail lamps, P/N's #5976593 (LH) and #5976594 (RH). Refer to Section 10-8 of the 1990 Service Information Manual for replacement procedure.

NOTE: The 1991 lamps have revised venting and a red outer lens and will change the appearance of the rear lighting. This repair should only be done with customer approval of the change of appearance.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
