WEAR TOP PORTION A-PILLAR TRIM (REPL./RECOVER A-PILLAR TRIM)

SUBJECT: WEAR ALONG TOP PORTION OF A-PILLAR TRIM (REPLACE OR RECOVER A-PILLAR TRIM)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992 CADILLAC SEVILLE

Some owners of 1992 Sevilles may experience a condition of wear along the top portion of the A-pillar trim (windshield garnish moulding). This condition is due to an interference between the top outer corner of the sunshade and the A-pillar.

To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Replace or recover the A-pillar trim to eliminate the area of wear. Refer to Section 10-9 of the 1992 E/K Service Manual.

2. New sunshades are now available with a different angle to avoid interference. Replace both sunshades with new sunshades. Refer to Section 10-9 of the 1992 Service Manual. Order parts based on the following information:

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
