This bulletin supersedes Service bulletin T-92-92 which should be discarded. This bulletin is being revised to cancel the exchange program.
Service parts for the Road Sensing Suspension (RSS) system have been available through a special exchange program. This program was successful in providing early customer/dealer feedback and minimizing service and diagnostic problems associated with the introduction of new product technology. In order to relieve parts personnel of special parts ordering procedures, this program is cancelled immediately. Dealers will no longer be required to call the Cadillac Technical Assistance System to obtain parts for the RSS system. However, the Cadillac Technical Assistance System will still be available for aid in diagnosis of a problem.
Parts for the RSS system may now be ordered directly through GMSPO via normal channels. The core charge on RSS parts will be maintained. Replacement parts will be packaged in heavy gauge returnable boxes. The box will include a return label/shipper and a short instruction sheet. To ensure proper and timely core charge crediting, complete the lower half of the instruction sheet provided and include it along with a copy of the repair order with the returned part.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
