Transmission Mount Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable assembly from the battery negative terminal. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Install the J 28467-360 .
  4. Raise the left side of the powertrain (the transmission side) 25.4 mm (I.0 in) above the powertrain resting position with the adjusting screws.
  5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  6. Support the vehicle with safety stands.
  7. Remove the left front tire and wheel.
  8. Disconnect the RSS position sensor from the lower ball stud.
  9. Remove the forward splash shield.

  11. Remove the nuts attaching the mount to the frame. The mount should pull away from the frame.
  12. Remove the bolts attaching the bracket to the transmission.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97530  Size: SH
  1. Install the bolts attaching the bracket to the transmission.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 Ib ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the left transmission mount to the frame and the attaching nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 Ib ft).

  5. Install the forward splash shield.
  6. Reconnect the RSS position sensor.
  7. Install the left front tire and wheel.
  8. Remove the safety stands.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Loosen the J 28467-360 adjusting screws in order to lower the powertrain to the powertrain resting position.
  11. Remove the J 28467-360 .

  13. Connect the battery negative cable assembly to the battery negative terminal.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the terminal bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  9. Remove the nuts attaching the mount to the frame. The mount should pull away from the frame.
  10. Remove the nuts attaching the mount to the bracket.
  11. Remove the right transmission mount.
  12. Remove the bolts attaching the bracket to the transmission.
  13. Remove the transmission mount bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the right transaxle mount bracket and the attaching bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 Ib ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the right transaxle mount and nuts at the bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 Ib ft).

  5. Install the nuts attaching the mount to the frame.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 Ib ft).

  7. Install the right front tire and wheel.
  8. Remove the safety stands.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Loosen the J 28467-360 adjusting screws in order to lower the powertrain to the powertrain resting position.
  11. Remove the J 28467-360 .

  13. Connect the battery negative cable assembly to the battery negative terminal.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the terminal bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
