Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the converter cover. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement .
  2. Important: Mark the relationship of the torque converter-to-flywheel before removing the bolts. This will help you replace the flywheel and torque converter in the same position.

  3. Remove the bolts attaching flywheel to the torque converter.
  4. Rotate the flywheel to gain access to each bolt.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 99812  Size: SH
  1. Install the bolts attaching the flywheel to the torque converter. Use the mark made during disassembly to align the torque converter to the flywheel. Install all the bolts finger tight before tightening to ease assembly.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the converter cover. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement .
