Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel center trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  3. Object Number: 287815  Size: SH
  4. Remove the heater and A/C control and radio bracket fasteners.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the radio and A/C control assembly.

  6. Object Number: 288103  Size: SH
  7. Remove the radio retaining nuts.
  8. Remove the radio from radio bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radio to the radio bracket.

  2. Object Number: 288103  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the radio retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the radio retaining nuts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connectors to the radio and A/C control assembly.
  6. Install the heater and A/C control and radio bracket retainers.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  8. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  9. Install the instrument panel center trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
