Stop Lamp Switch Replacement Stoplamp/BTSI Switch
Removal Procedure
Notice: When installing the brake pedal switches it is very important that the
brake pedal remain in the full up or at rest position or damage to the brake
system and/or switch misadjustment may occur.
- Remove the IP sound insulators,
as needed for access.
- Twist the lower switch (4) counter-clockwise and remove.
- Disconnect the lower switch (4) electrical connectors.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the lower switch
(4) electrical connectors.
- Install the lower switch into the lower retainer. Face the switch
connector to the 6 o'clock position.
- Slide the lower switch into the retainer (1) until
the switch plunger is fully depressed into the switch barrel.
- Twist the switch clockwise until travel has stopped. The switch
connector will face the 8 o'clock position when the switch is in the fully
locked position.
- Install sound insulator.

Removal Procedure
Notice: When installing the brake pedal switches it is very important that the
brake pedal remain in the full up or at rest position or damage to the brake
system and/or switch misadjustment may occur.
- Remove the instrument panel sound insulator as needed for access.
- Twist the upper switch counter-clockwise and remove.
- Disconnect the upper switch electrical connectors.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the upper switch electrical connectors.
- Install the upper switch into the upper retainer. Face the switch
connector to the 6 o'clock position.
- Slide the lower switch into the retainer until the switch plunger
is fully depressed into the switch barrel.
- Twist the switch clockwise until travel has stopped. The switch
connector will face the 8 o'clock position when the switch is in the fully
locked position.
- Install the IP sound insulator as needed.
