Removal Procedure
- Place window in full up position.
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (2).
- Disconnect the lock cylinder rod (driver's door only).
- Disconnect the door handle rod (1) from the door latch.
- Remove the lock knob from the rod by twisting counter-clockwise the knob.
- Remove the three fasteners (4) from the door latch.
- Remove the door latch from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the electrical connectors (2).
- Install the door latch into the door.
- Route the door lock knob into position.
- Install the three fasteners (4).
- Push outside door handle rod (1) up, insert into latch clip (2), and close the clip.
- Install the lock cylinder rod (driver's door only).
- Install the lock knob by turning clockwise.
- Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the door latch fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Important: Check for the proper operation of the door handle and lock cylinder before installing the water deflector and door trim panel.
