Removal Procedure

Important: The knee bolster trim panel must be replaced, not repaired, if there is any visible damage.


    Object Number: 105514  Size: SH
  1. Remove left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove two fasteners (2) from lower edge at IP lower.
  3. Remove knee bolster trim panel (1) by grasping at top and bottom and pulling downward to disengage the snap clips at rear of trim plate.

Installation Procedure

  1. Align knee bolster trim panel retainers to lower IP.
  2. Push upward firmly to snap into retainer bracket.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install two fasteners (2) from trim panel to IP lower.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the trim panel fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Install left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement .
