Was the Audible Warnings System Check performed?

  1. Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition switch ON.
  3. Attempt to establish communication with the radio (IRC) and radio amplifier (AMP) using the scan tool.

Does the scan tool communicate with both modules?

Go to Step 3

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System

  1. Select the radio amplifier (AMP) system on the scan tool.
  2. Safety Belt unbuckled.
  3. Select Data Inputs function.
  4. Cycle ignition switch from OFF to ON.
  5. View the status of the chime input to the amplifier.

Is the scan tool chime input ON?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect radio amplifier connector.
  2. Check CKT 652 (PPL/WHT) and CKT 653 (DK BLU/WHT) for an open or short to ground.

Is wiring OK?

Go to Step 6

Repair CKT 652 (PPL/WHT) or CKT 653 (DK BLU/WHT).

Is circuit repair complete?

--

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

  1. Check radio connector for poor terminal contact.
  2. If OK, perform the Radio/Audio Diagnostic System Check.
