Using a scan tool, try to establish communications with the IPC, LFDM, and VTD systems.

Can the scan tool communicate with the IPC, LFDM, and VTD systems?

Go to Step 3

Using the power door lock switches, operate the driver and passenger door locks.

Do the power door locks operate correctly?

Go to Step 4

  1. Close both the driver and passenger doors.
  2. Turn ON the ignition..

Is the door ajar message displayed?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster in Instrument Panel, Guages and Console.

Go to Step  5

Open the driver door.

Is the door ajar message displayed?

Go to Step 6

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster in Instrument Panel, Guages and Console.

  1. Close the driver door.
  2. Open the passenger door.

Is the door ajar message displayed?

Go to Step 7

Turn ON the ignition..

Is the SECURITY indicator on or flashing?

Inspect the following circuits for an intermittent malfunction:

    • The driver door ajar switch
    • The passenger door ajar switch.
    • Intermittent communications between the IPC, LFDM, or PCM systems.
    • The rear lid tamper switch.
    • The power door lock switches.
    • The door lock cylinder switches.
    • The hood ajar switch (export only).

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the no communication malfunction to the system that could not communicate with the scan tool. Refer to the appropriate Diagnostic System Check that applies to the system that did not communicate.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Reconnect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed.
