The PASS-Key® III Theft Deterrent (VTD) Module performs an internal test to determine if the module is in the learn coded key mode every 300 milliseconds. If the test determines that the module is in the learn coded key mode the VTD module will indicate a learn coded key mode is current.
At the beginning of the ignition cycle the VTD module detects a learn coded key mode.
