Notice: Do not damage the MAF sensor screen. A damaged screen could restrict airflow and lead to a driveability concern.
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
Notice: Do not immerse the TP sensor and IAC valve in any type of cleaner. This cleaning method may damage these electronic components.
Notice: Use care when cleaning the old gasket from the aluminum surfaces in order to prevent damage to the sealing surfaces.
Notice: Do not use a cleaner which contains methyl ethyl ketone. This extremely strong solvent may damage components and is not necessary for this type of cleaning.
Use a carburetor cleaner in order to remove deposits. Refer to the instructions provided with the cleaner.Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
Important: The outlet of the air cleaner assembly and the MAF sensor inlet duct must line up when completely installed. Misalignment may cause incorrect airflow readings resulting in MIL illumination or a driveability concern.
Important: Do Not reuse the old throttle body gasket.
