Carpet Retainer Replacement Front

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover


    Object Number: 106210  Size: SH
  1. Using a J 38778 release the retainer clips from the rocker panel.
  2. Slide the garnish molding from behind the hood release cable on the driver's side.
  3. Remove the front carpet retainer.
  4. If the clips come out of the retainers, turn 90° in hole and lift out of the slot.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the garnish molding behind the hood release cable on the driver's side.
  2. Align the front carpet retainer with the slots in the rocker.
  3. Pressing down, engage the retainers into the slots in the rocker panel.

Carpet Retainer Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover


    Object Number: 106214  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  3. Using a J 38778 release the retainer clips from the rocker panel.
  4. Lift the rear carpet retainer at the center pillar base to release the hooks from the center pillar trim.
  5. Remove the rear carpet retainer.
  6. If the carpet retainer clips come off of the retainers, turn 90° in the slot and lift out of the slot.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 106214  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear carpet retainer.
  2. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  3. Align the front carpet retainer with the slots in the rocker.
  4. Ensure that the hooks on the rear carpet retainer are aligned with the center pillar trim.
  5. Pressing down, engage the retainers into the slots in the rocker panel.
