Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

  1. Disconnect the harness connector from the rear integration module.
  2. Use a fused jumper wire in order to jumper terminal A4 of the rear integration module harness connector to ground.

Does the fuel door open?

With the jumper still connected, measure the voltage at terminal D9, connector C2 at the rear junction block.

Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

  1. Replace the fuel door.
  2. Release the solenoid.

  1. Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Use the Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) data display at the non-HVAC data screen in order to observe the state of the fuel door release switch input.

Is the input ON when the fuel button is pressed and OFF when released?

Replace the IPM.

  1. Disconnect the fuel door release switch connector.
  2. Measure the resistance between switch harness connector terminal 4 and ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-3 ohms

Repair the open/high resistance in circuit 351.

Use a fused jumper in order to jumper terminal 1 of the switch harness connector to ground.

Did the fuel door open?

  1. Inspect the fuel door release switch connector for poor contact.
  2. If OK, replace the switch.

Measure the voltage at terminal 1 of the switch connector to ground.
