The steering wheel controls consist of two audio system control buttons and two climate control buttons or (on vehicles with a cellular telephone) two cellular telephone control buttons. The steering wheel controls operate as follows:
Press the up arrow button to increase the volume and the down arrow button to decrease the volume.
When listening to the radio, press the up or down arrow to tune to the next or previous preset radio station. When listening to a cassette tape, the up or down arrow button can be used to seek forward and back through the tape. Pressing the up or down arrow button when listening to a CD causes the player to go to the next or previous selection. When in Radio Data Systems (RDS) Program Type (PTY) mode, the up or down arrow button can be used to perform a PTY preset seek. PSEEK appears on the display while the PTY preset seek is active. The radio seeks all of the PTYs stored in presets, except the PTY Any.
Press the up arrow on the control to increase the temperature and the down arrow to decrease the temperature.
Press the up arrow on the control to increase the fan speed and the down arrow to decrease the fan speed.
Press the SEND key to originate or receive calls.
Press the END key to terminate a call or exit the phone mode.
