Rear Integration Module (RIM)

After replacement of the Rear Integration Module, perform the vehicle Memory and Personalization Programming (Feature Programming) to reset the owner's desired personalization settings.

Memory and Personalization Programming (Feature Programming)

If both the "ON and OFF are lit, the settings for that feature will not be able to be changed using the DIC. Both being lit indicates that a module did not respond to the cluster with personalization information when the feature programming was entered. Either the module in question, the Class 2 bus, or the cluster has a problem. If both the ON and OFF are blank (not lit), then the cluster has received invalid data from the module(s) in question and the settings for that feature will not be able to be changed using the DIC. This will typically occur when two different modules are involved in the setting (ie, Memory Seat Module and Tilt/Telescoping Module for Recall and Exit selections) and the two modules do not agree as to whether the feature is ON or OFF. This could also occur if a module sends an invalid state to the cluster. The scan tool will have to be used to toggle the feature setting for the module(s) in question so that they agree or contain valid states. Once they agree then the DIC can again be used to change the settings if needed.

  1. Turn the ignition to ON.
  2. Ensure the vehicle is in the PARK (P) position.
  3. If equipped with memory, press the appropriate memory button "1" or "2", located on the drivers door panel, prior to programming.
  4. Press the INFO button one or more times until the FEATURE PROGRAMMING prompt appears on the drivers information center (DIC) display.
  5. Press the ON/OFF button to enter FEATURE PROGRAMMING.
  6. Press the down arrow on the INFO button in order to select the personalization feature to be programmed.
  7. Press the ON/OFF button in order to turn the personalization feature on or off.
  8. To exit, press the INFO RESET button.
  9. Turn the ignition OFF.

Important: After programming, perform the following to avoid future misdiagnosis:

  1. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
  2. Connect the scan tool to the data link connector.
  3. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF.
  4. Use the scan tool in order to retrieve history DTCs from all modules.
  5. Clear all history DTCs.
