The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms in the PI
Condition/Concern:
DTC P0442 Small Leak Detected
Recommendation/Instructions:
When testing a vehicle with the Evap Test Station for DTC P0442 Small Evap Leak, the system should pressurized through the filler neck, gas cap as well as the under hood service port. A filler neck leak may masked when pressurizing at the filler neck therefore it is suggested to pressure test at the filler neck, gas cap and the under hood service port. The filler neck should also be inspected for corrosion.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
