Accelerator Pedal Replacement Domestic

1. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel replacement. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
2. Remove the clip (2) from the pedal (3).
3. Remove the plastic retainer from inside the pedal.
4. Remove the accelerator control cable (1) from the accelerator controls pedal by pulling straight out and up towards the top of the accelerator controls pedal.
5. Remove the accelerator controls pedal from the brake and accelerator controls pedal assembly.

1. Install the accelerator control pedal (2) to the brake and accelerator controls pedal assembly.
2. Install the plastic retainer inside the accelerator controls pedal.
3. Install the clip onto the accelerator controls pedal.
4. Install the accelerator control cable (1) to the pedal by pulling the accelerator controls pedal straight out and down towards the top of the accelerator control pedal.

Important: The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.

5. Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator controls pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator controls pedal.
6. Install the left closeout/insulator panel replacement. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Accelerator Pedal Replacement Export

1. Remove the right closeout/insulator panel replacement. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
2. Remove the accelerator controls cable (1) from the accelerator controls pedal (3).
3. Remove the nuts (2) from the accelerator controls pedal assembly (3).
4. Remove the accelerator controls pedal assembly (3).

1. Install the accelerator controls pedal assembly (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the accelerator controls pedal assembly nuts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the accelerator controls pedal assembly nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

Important: The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.

3. Install the accelerator controls cable (1) to the pedal (3) pedal.
4. Install the right closeout/insulator panel replacement. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
