Power Steering Return Hose Replacement LHD

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 284266  Size: SH
  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.

  3. Object Number: 105265  Size: SH
  4. Remove the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
  5. Raise and Support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  7. Remove the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement .
  8. Remove the power steering return hose from the frame brackets.
  9. Remove the power steering return hose to wiring harness tie straps.
  10. Remove the power steering return hose from the wiring harness clip.
  11. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.
  12. Remove power steering return hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105265  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering return hose to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten power steering return hose to power steering gear to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the power steering return hose to the wiring harness clip.
  6. Install the power steering return hose to wiring harness tie straps.
  7. Install the power steering return hose to the frame brackets.
  8. Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement .
  9. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Install the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt to the cylinder head.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten power steering return hose mounting bracket bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  13. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  14. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  15. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Return Hose Replacement RHD

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 284266  Size: SH
  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.

  3. Object Number: 105265  Size: SH
  4. Remove the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
  5. Raise and Support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Remove the power steering return hose from the brackets on the engine frame.
  8. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear and position out of the way.
  9. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.
  10. Remove power steering return hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105265  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering return hose to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.     Tighten power steering return hose nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten power steering pressure hose nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the power steering return hose to the brackets on the engine frame.
  8. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle
  10. Install the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt to the cylinder head.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  12. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  13. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding
