Removal Procedure
Important: The rear floor service part comes pre-cut to the appropriate size for sectioning. It does not need to be modified.
- Remove all panels and components as necessary for access.
- Restore as much of the damage as possible to factory specifications.
- Locate, mark, and drill out all factory welds rearward of the crossbar connecting the rear rails to the floor panel.
- Locate and drill out the welds attaching the rear floor panel to the wheelhouse.
- Cut the rear floor along the rearward edge of the crossbar (1).
- Take care not to cut the crossbar or the rear rails (2).
- Remove the damaged section of the rear floor panel.
Installation Procedure
- Drill 8 mm (5/16 in) holes for plug welding in the service panels necessary in the locations noted from the original floor panel.
- Prepare all mating surfaces for welding as necessary.
- Apply 3M Weld-Thru Coating P/N 05916 or equivalent to all mating surfaces.
- Position the service floor section on top of the original floor and check the fit.
- Plug weld as necessary.
- Clean and prepare all bare metal surfaces.
- Apply the following as necessary:
• | The anti-corrosion materials |
• | A two-part catalyzed primer |
| Important: Prior to refinishing, refer to GM 4901MD-99 Refinish Manual for recommended products. Do not combine paint systems. Refer to paint manufacturer's recommendations.

- Install the panels and components previously removed for access.
