Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step tests the integrity of the heated seat switch. In order for this step to be a valid test, the procedures within this step must be followed as instructed.

  2. This step tests the integrity of the heated seat switch signal circuit between the heated seat switch and the rear door module. In order for this step to be a valid test, the procedures within this step must be followed as instructed.

  3. This step tests the integrity of the rear integration module. In order for this step to be a valid test, the procedures within this step must be followed as instructed.

Did you review the heated seat operation and perform the necessary inspection?

Verify that the Heated Seat Always On complaint is present.

Does the heated seat system operate as described in the system description and operation?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the rear heated seat switch harness connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the seat cool down?

Go to Step 8

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the rear door module harness connector C1.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the seat cool down?

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the rear integration module harness connector C1.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the seat cool down?

Test the rear heated seat switch signal circuit between the heated seat switch and the door module for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the heated seat module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
