Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 105170  Size: SH
  3. Remove the push-in retainers (2) securing the rear bumper fascia (1) to the body (1).
  4. Remove the rear fascia extensions. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement in Bumpers.

  5. Object Number: 539778  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts (3) securing the rear bumper fascia (2) at the wheelhouse opening.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Open the rear compartment.
  9. Remove the rear compartment side trim panels. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side and Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.
  10. Remove the bolts (1) from the rear bumper fascia (2) to the quarter panels.

  12. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the rear bumper fascia (1) to the vehicle.
  13. Disconnect the rear object sensor harness electrical connector on the passenger side of rear bumper fascia, if equipped.
  14. Remove the rear bumper fascia (1) from the vehicle.
  15. Remove the rear object sensor assemblies from the rear bumper fascia, if equipped. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement in Rear Park Assist.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear object sensor assemblies into the rear bumper fascia, if equipped. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement in Rear Park Assist.

  2. Object Number: 105165  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear bumper fascia (1) to the vehicle.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the bolts (2) to the rear bumper fascia (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Connect th rear object sensor electrical connector at the right hand side of the rear bumper fascia, if equipped.

  8. Object Number: 539778  Size: SH
  9. Install the bolts (1) to the rear bumper fascia (2) to the quarter panels.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  11. Install the rear compartment side trim panels. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side and Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.
  12. Close the rear compartment.
  13. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  14. Install the fasteners (3) to the rear bumper fascia (2) at the wheelhouse opening.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  16. Install the rear fascia extensions. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement in Bumpers.
  17. Install the push-in retainers (2) in order to secure the rear bumper fascia (1) to the body (1).
  18. Lower the vehicle.
