Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.

  3. Object Number: 105166  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the horns (2).

  5. Object Number: 105158  Size: SH
  6. Remove the fasteners securing the horns (1) to the frame rail.
  7. Remove the horns (1) from the body.
  8. Note the orientation of the horn bracket, relative to the horn trumpet.
  9. Remove the horn from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the replacement horn to the original bracket or the replacement bracket supplied with the kit.
  2. Verify the orientation of the horn trumpet to the mounting bracket is correct

    Tighten
    Tighten the horn to the mounting bracket fastener to 10 N·m (90 lb in).

  3. Install the horns (1) to the frame rail.
  4. Install the fasteners to secure the horns (1) to the body.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  6. Connect the horn electrical connectors (1) to the horns (2).
  7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  8. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
