Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  2. Place the wiper/washer switch in the OFF position.
  3. Place the twilight delay switch in the OFF position.
  4. Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  5. Place the fog lamp switch in the OFF position.
  6. Wait more than 6 seconds.

Does the HEADLAMPS SUGGESTED message display on the Instrument Cluster (IPC)?

  1. Shine a bright incandescent lamp into the ambient light sensor.
  2. With a scan tool observe the Twilight Photocell Parameter.

Does the scan tool display less than 200 counts (3.9 volts)?

Go to Step 4

Test for a short to battery positive voltage in the windshield wiper switch on signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the Dash Integration Module (DIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the ambient light sensor. Refer to Sun Load Sensor Replacement in HVAC Systems - Automatic.

Did you complete the replacement?

Important:: Perform the setup procedure for the Dash Integration Module (DIM). refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .

Replace the DIM. Refer to Dash Integration Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
