Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the electrical
connectors from the washer pump and the solvent level sensor switch.
- Disconnect the washer hose from the washer pump.
- Remove the A/C accumulator. Refer to
Air Conditioning Accumulator Replacement
in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
- Remove the nuts from the washer solvent container.
- Remove the screw from the washer solvent container.
- Remove the washer solvent container from the vehicle.
- Drain the washer solvent
contents into a suitable container.
- Pull outward on the washer pump in order to disconnect the pump
from the container.
- Gently pry the pump from the container grommet.
- Remove the washer pump from the washer solvent container.
- Remove the grommet from the washer solvent container
- Gently pry upward on the
outer edge of the level sensor in order to disengage the sensor switch from
the washer solvent container grommet.
- Remove the level sensor switch.
- Remove the level sensor grommet.
- Remove the washer solvent container cap.
Installation Procedure
- Install the level sensor
switch grommet into the container.
- Position the level sensor switch to the grommet, apply downward
pressure in order to seat the switch into the grommet.
- Install the washer solvent container cap.
Important: Ensure that the washer pump is fully seated into the container seal.
- Install the seal into the washer solvent container.
- Install the washer pump to the seal, apply downward pressure in
order to seat the pump into the seal.
- Move the washer pump inward to the container in order to seat
the pump to the washer solvent container.
- Position the washer solvent container to the studs on the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the washer
solvent container nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the screw to the washer solvent container.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the A/C accumulator. Refer to
Air Conditioning Accumulator Replacement
in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the washer solvent level
sensor switch and to the washer pump.
- Lubricate the end of the washer hose with washer solvent to ease
the installation.
- Connect the washer hose to the washer pump.
- Fill the washer solvent container with washer solvent.
