Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement LHD

Removal Procedure

  1. Set the wiper arms in the park position.
  2. Disconnect the wiper nozzle hose from the washer hose connector.

  3. Object Number: 306442  Size: SH
  4. Remove the cover from the nut.
  5. Remove the nut from the wiper arm.
  6. Important: Use the J 39822 in order to remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.

  7. Remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.
  8. Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm. Refer to Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 306537  Size: SH
  1. Install the wiper blade on the wiper arm. Refer to Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement .
  2. Important: The wiper system must be in the park position when installing the wiper arms. If the wiper system is not in the park position, damage to the wiper system and the vehicle will occur.

  3. Park the wipers if they are at the mid-wipe position.
  4. Important: Clean the wiper transmission drive shaft knurls with a wire brush.

  5. Install the wiper arm on the wiper transmission drive shaft while maintaining the following distances between the end of the wiper blade and the bottom of the windshield:
  6. • Driver Side -- 84.4 mm (3.32 in)
    • Passenger Side -- 84.6 mm (3.33 in)

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the nut on the wiper arm.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  9. Install the cover onto the nut.
  10. Lubricate the washer hose with the windshield washer solvent.
  11. Connect the wiper hose to the washer nozzle connector.
  12. Inspect the wiper washer system for proper operation.

Removal Procedure

  1. Set the wiper arms in the park position.
  2. Disconnect the wiper nozzle hose from the washer hose connector.

  4. Remove the cover from the nut.
  5. Remove the nut from the wiper arm.
  6. Important: Use J 39822 in order to remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.

  7. Remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.
  8. Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm. Refer to Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement .
