Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement LHD

Tools Required

    • J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator
    • J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Placing your hands into the crank arm assembly can cause personal injury. Always replace the windshield wiper module cover before operating the windshield wiper system.

  1. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  2. Remove the three wiper motor bolts.
  3. Move the wiper arms 153-204 mm (6-8 in) up the windshield from the park position.
  4. Pull the wiper motor away from the vehicle.

  5. Object Number: 669383  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the transmission drive link from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232 .
  7. Remove the wiper motor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Move the wiper arms 153-204 mm (6-8 in) up the windshield from the park position.
  2. Connect the transmission drive link to the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529 .

  3. Object Number: 669390  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the wiper motor onto the vehicle with three bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
  7. Inspect the wiper washer system for proper operation.

  4. Position the wiper motor to the plenum panel.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
