Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Pull back on rear compartment trim panel.
- Disconnect the backup
lamp connector (5) from the rear compartment lid wiring harness.
- Press the grommet (3) out of the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the fasteners (4) securing the backup lamp (1)
to the rear compartment lid (2).
- Remove the backup lamp (1) from the rear compartment lid (2).
Installation Procedure
- Route the backup lamp
connector (5) and the grommet (3) through the rear compartment
lid (2).
- Install the backup lamp (1) to the rear compartment lid (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (1)
in order to secure the backup lamp (1) to the rear compartment lid (2).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).
- Verify that the grommet (3) is fully seated in the rear
compartment lid (2).
- Connect the backup lamp connector (5) to the rear compartment
lid wiring harness.
- Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
