Some customers may comment on a moan noise from the front of the vehicle while driving at low speeds usually under 32.19 km (20 MPH). The noise goes away when the brakes are applied.
This condition may be caused by the caliper to bracket mounting pin bolts having a high runout which causes the pads to touch the rotor at the outside diameter of the rotor only.
To repair this condition, replace the caliper mounting pin bolts in service kit, P/N 18046666. Follow the service procedure below:
Important: DO NOT apply lubricant to the caliper pin bolts threads or other brake pad hardware.
Important: The upper caliper pin bolt has a bushing as part of the bolt. The lower caliper pin bolt is of a solid design.
Install the lower pin bolt (1) without bushing through the caliper (2) and into the caliper bracket (3).
Tighten
Tighten the brake caliper pin bolts to 85 Nm (63 lb ft).
