Removal Procedure
- Remove the scavenge screens. Refer to
Scavenge Screens and Seals Replacement
.
- Remove the lower controls and valve assembly. Refer to
Lower Control Valve Body Assembly Removal
in the Transmission Unit Repair Manual.
- Using a pair of pliers, grasp the detent roller
end of the detent spring (27). Remove the detent spring (27).
- Remove the 13 mm detent roller bolt pivot arm, the sleeve, and
the washer (26).
- Remove the 15 mm manual shaft nut (18). You must hold the detent
lever (17) in place when removing the manual shaft nut (18) in
order to prevent damage to the actuator rod (21).
- Remove the detent lever (17) and the actuator rod (21).
Installation Procedure
- Install the detent lever (17) and the actuator rod (21).
- You must hold the detent lever (17) in place when installing the
manual shaft nut (18) in order to prevent damage to the actuator rod
(21).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 15 mm manual shaft nut (18).
Tighten
Tighten the manual shaft to detent lever nut to 27-34 N·m
(20-25 lb ft).
- Install the 13 mm detent roller bolt pivot arm, the sleeve, and
the washer (26).
Tighten
Tighten the detent lever and roller assembly bolt to 8-14 N·m
(6-10 lb ft).
- Using a pair of pliers, grasp the detent roller
end of the detent spring (27). Install the detent spring (27).
- Install the lower controls and valve assembly. Refer to
Lower Controls Assembly Installation
in the Transmission Unit Repair Manual.
- Install the scavenge screens. Refer to
Scavenge Screens and Seals Replacement
.
