J 24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear support. Refer to Support Replacement .
  2. Remove the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 472989  Size: SH
  4. Remove the adjustment link retaining nut from the lower control arm.

  5. Object Number: 643351  Size: SH
  6. Using J 24319-B separate the adjustment link from the lower control arm.
  7. Remove the wheel bearing and hub from the lower control arm. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .

  8. Remove the lower control arm mounting bolts and nuts.
  9. Remove the lower control arm.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105029  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower control arm to the support.
  2. Important: The control arm nuts should be tightened with the vehicle unsupported and resting on the wheels at the normal trim height.

  3. Install the lower control arm mounting bolts and nuts.

  4. Object Number: 472989  Size: SH
  5. Install the wheel bearing and hub. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  6. Install the adjustment link to the lower control arm.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the adjustment link retaining nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the adjustment link retaining nuts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  10. Install the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  11. Install the rear support. Refer to Support Replacement .
  12. Lower the vehicle to obtain the trim height.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the lower control arm mounting nuts to 106 N·m (78 lb ft).
