Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the shift linkage by removing the nut at the manual shaft level on the top of the transmission.
  2. Remove the detent lever and roller assembly. Refer to Detent Lever and Roller Assembly Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 413026 Size: SH
  3. Remove the following parts:
    4. • The manual shaft (16) out through the top of the bell housing
    • The manual shaft seal (20)

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 413026 Size: SH
  1. Install the manual shaft seal (20).
  2. Install the manual shaft (16) through the top of the bell housing.
  3. Install the detent lever and roller assembly. Refer to Detent Lever and Roller Assembly Replacement .

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the manual shaft nut by hand.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the manual shaft lever nut to 27-34 N·m (20-25 lb ft).
