Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

    2. Object Number: 105551 Size: SH
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  3. Remove the fasteners (2) that secure the defroster grille to the I/P carrier.
  4. Partially remove the defroster grille in order to disconnect the sunload sensors from the defroster grille. Refer to Sunload and Twilight Sentinel Sensor Replacement .
  5. Remove the defroster grille (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 105551 Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connectors and install the sunload sensors to the defroster grille. Refer to Sunload and Twilight Sentinel Sensor Replacement .
  2. Align the defroster grille (3) with the I/P carrier.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the defroster grille fasteners (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the defroster grille fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the I/P upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  5. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
