Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Remove the driver's side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side or to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  2. Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the data link connector (DLC) from the knee bolster.

    4. Object Number: 105516 Size: SH
  4. Remove the 4 fasteners (2) that secure the knee bolster bracket to the lower I/P.
  5. Remove the knee bolster bracket (3).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 105516 Size: SH
  1. Align the knee bolster bracket (3) to the lower I/P, then install the knee bolster fasteners (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  2. Install the DLC to the knee bolster.
  3. Install the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  4. Install the left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side or to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side .
