Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 296136  Size: SH
  1. Relieve the hydraulic pressure from the pump assembly.
  2. Siphon fluid from the hydraulic brake booster reservoir.
  3. Remove the hydraulic lines from the power brake booster pump assembly.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connections from the pump assembly.
  5. Remove the pump assembly bracket fasteners.
  6. Remove the pump assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the pump assembly into the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the pump assembly bracket fasteners.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the pump bracket bolts and nut to 9 N·m (80 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connections to the pump assembly.
  6. Connect the hydraulic lines from the power brake booster pump assembly.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the pump hydraulic line to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  8. Bleed the power brake hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
