Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 472982  Size: SH
  3. Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket bolt.

  4. Object Number: 105022  Size: SH
  5. Bend open the end of the stabilizer shaft bracket upward.
  6. Using a pry bar, raise the stabilizer shaft and remove the stabilizer shaft insulator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105022  Size: SH
  1. Using a pry bar, raise the stabilizer shaft and install the stabilizer shaft insulator with the slit forward.
  2. Bend the stabilizer shaft bracket downward to close around the insulator. Ensure the stabilizer shaft insulator nest in the clamps, if not replace the clamps.

  3. Object Number: 472982  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket retaining bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten stabilizer shaft retaining bracket bolt to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
