Circuit Description

The window switch contacts are the window switch inputs for the driver door switch (DDS). These contacts allow the DDS to detect a window direction request. When the window switch is activated, the DDS sends a serial data message to the DDM or PDM to command the window to move in the direction selected. The DDS monitors the switch contacts to determine how long the switch has been activated. If the DDS detects that the switch contacts are activated for greater than 30 seconds, a DTC is set.

    • DTC B3377 Left Front Window Up Switch Circuit Low
    • DTC B3382 Left Front Window Down Switch Circuit Low
    • DTC B3387 Right Front Window Up Switch Circuit Low
    • DTC B3392 Right Front Window Down Switch Circuit Low
    • DTC B3467 Left Front Window Express Up or Down Circuit Low
    • DTC B3472 Right Front Window Express Up or Down Circuit Low

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The DDS detects that the switch contacts are activated.
    • Condition must be present for greater than 30 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

Stores DTC B3377, B3382, B3387, B3392, B3467 or B3472 in DDS memory.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The DDS no longer detects that the switch contacts are activated for greater than 30 seconds, and:
    • The DTC is cleared using a scan tool.

Diagnostic Aids

    • The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction:
       - The mirror switch was activated for longer than 30 seconds.
       - The mirror switch is shorted internally.
    • If the DTC does not reset after the code is cleared, then the problem may be intermittent. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.
