The driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) check for hall sensor pulses of their respective window motors at least once every 50 milliseconds. When the DDM or PDM detects no hall sensor pulses in the window motor, a DTC is set.
DTC B3542 Left Front/Driver Window Obstruction Sensor Control Circuit
• | The DDM or PDM detects no hall sensor pulses in the power window motor. |
• | Battery voltage must be 9.0-16.0 volts. |
• | Stores DTC B3542 in DDM or PDM memory. |
• | No express possible. |
• | The DDM or PDM no longer detects a current DTC B3542 in DDM or PDM memory, and: |
• | The DTC is cleared using a scan tool. |
• | The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction: |
- | There is an intermittent sticking or binding condition on a window causing the window to be unable to move. |
- | A window motor is shorted internally. |
• | If the DTC does not reset after the code is cleared, then the problem may be intermittent. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems. |
