Did you perform the Vehicle Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that the power mirrors are inoperative.

Does the power mirrors system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Are both mirrors inoperative?

Go to Step 11

Is the driver mirror inoperative?

Go to Step 5

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the mirror select switch parameter in the Driver Door Switch data list.
  4. Activate the LH mirror switch on the driver door switch.

Does the scan tool display Off?

Go to Step 11

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the mirror select switch parameter in the Driver Door Switch data list.
  4. Activate the RH mirror switch on the driver door switch.

Does the scan tool display Off?

Go to Step 11

  1. With a scan tool, observe the driver mirror motors command parameter in the Driver Door Module data list.
  2. Activate the mirror direction switch to the Up, Down, Right and Left positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 12

  1. With a scan tool, observe the psgr. mirror motors command parameter in the Passenger Door Module data list.
  2. Activate the mirror direction switch to the Up, Down, Right and Left positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Test the appropriate left mirror motor control circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate right mirror motor control circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver door switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the driver door switch. Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement .

  1. Perform the power window reinitialization procedure. Refer to Power Window Reinitialization
  2. Replace the appropriate door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
