Removal Procedure
- Place the folding top in the down position.
- Tape the antenna (2) to the rear compartment lid.
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
- Remove the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement in Body Rear End.
- Disconnect the coaxial harness (2) to the antenna.
- Remove the retaining bolt (3) and the sleeve (2) from the antenna base (1).
- Close the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the tape holding the antenna to the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the antenna assembly from the rear compartment lid.
Notice: Do not disassemble the antenna prior to painting. Disassembly can compromise sealing and may cause damage to the antenna.
Installation Procedure
- Install the antenna assembly to the rear compartment lid.
- Tape the antenna to the lid.
- Open the lid.
- Install the sleeve (2) and the retaining bolt (3) to the antenna base (1).
- Connect the coaxial harness (2) to the antenna base.
- Install foam (2) to the electrical connectors to prevent rattles.
- Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement in Body Rear End.
- Remove the protective covering.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the tape which secures the antenna to the rear compartment lid.
- Return the folding top to the full up and latched position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
