Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 932162 Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the intermediate exhaust pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  3. Remove the driveline tunnel closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Reinforcement Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  4. Disconnect the shift control cable from the floor shift control ball stud 3.
  5. Lower the vehicle.

  6. Remove the shift control trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  7. Remove the center console assembly. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Remove the electrical connector from the shift control assembly.

  9. Disconnect the wiring harnerss connector 1 from the shift lock control pigtail connector 2.

    10. Object Number: 932160 Size: SH
  10. Remove the nuts 3 securing the shift control assembly 1 to the tunnel reinforcement.
  11. Remove the shift control assembly from the tunnel reinforcement.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 932160 Size: SH
  1. Install the shift control assembly to the tunnel reinforcement.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the nuts securing the shift control assembly to the tunnel reinforcement.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  3. Connect the wiring harness connector to the shift lock control pigtail connector.

  4. Install the electrical connector (1) to the shift control assembly.
  5. Install the center console assembly. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console
  6. Install the shift control trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages , and Console.
  7. Place the shifter in the NEUTRAL position.
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  9. Connect the shift lock control cable 3. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement .
  10. Install the driveline tunnel closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Reinforcement Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  11. Install the intermediate exhaust pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  12. With the shifter and the transmission in the NEUTRAL position, adjust the shifter cable. Refer to Shift Control Linkage Adjustment .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
