Removal Procedure
- Install a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar into the belt drive tensioner.
- Push down on the breaker bar to release tension.
- Remove the drive belt from the tensioner pulley (1).
- Slowly return the tensioner (6) to the original position.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the belt.
Installation Procedure
- Thread the drive belt through all the pulleys except for the drive belt tensioner
pulley.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Insert a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar into the drive belt tensioner.
- Push down on the tensioner and feed the belt around the tensioner pulley.
- With the tension applied, complete the belt routing. Make sure the belt is properly seated in all pulleys.
- Slowly return the tensioner back to its original position. This will apply tension to the drive belt.
- After the installation, inspect the belt for the proper routing and the correct alignment.
- Start the engine and check for proper belt and accessory operation.
